Dr.
Mark Jones
Mark Jones, M.D. graduated Magna
Cum Laude from Berry College, Mt.
Berry, Georgia, in 1981, with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and
Political Science. He received his medical
degree from the Medical College of Georgia in
1986.
Following a surgical internship at Georgia
Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia, he
completed his residency in Radiation
Oncology at Cooper Hospital/University
Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson Medical
School, Camden, NJ, University of Medical &
Dentistry of New Jersey in Camden, New
Jersey. He served as Chief Resident at Cooper
Hospital/University Medical Center from
1989 to 1990.
Dr. Jones is board certified in Therapeutic
Radiology by the American Board of
Radiology. He is a member of many national,
state and local professional societies including
the Radiological Society of North America,
American Society of Therapeutic Radiology
and Oncology, American Radium Society,
American Brachytherapy Society, American
College of Radiology, the Kentucky Medical
Society, Jefferson County Medical Society,
Southern Medical Association and the
Southern Association of Oncology. He has
served on the Board of Directors of Caritas
Medical Center, Strategic Planning Committee,
Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare,
Partnership Committee Caritas Medical
Center/Catholic Health Initiatives, and the
Board of Trustees and Finance Committee for
Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare.
Dr. Jones resides in the Louisville area with his
wife Elizabeth and their four children. He
works at the Louisville Radiation Oncology
Center where he serves as Medical Director.
His areas of interest include High-Dose-Rate
Remote Brachytherapy and Transperineal
Prostatic Implantation. Dr. Jones is committed
to promoting and providing quality radiation
care for the people of the communities he
serves.
