Dr.
Theodore D. Masek has been serving the medical community
and the patients of Southern California for over 20 years.
Dr.Masek first moved to the area after receiving his
undergraduate degree in Physical Science from Westminster
College in Salt Lake City, Utah. He did graduate work
at Loma Linda University receiving a masters degree in
Microbiology before completing his Medical Degree from
Southwestern University, in Cebu City, Philippines in
1981. Dr. Masek completed his internship and residency
in Radiation Oncology at Loma Linda University. He also
completed two years of graduate work in Biomedical and
Clinical Ethics in the School of Religion at Loma Linda
University.
Dr. Masek is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology by
the American Board of Radiology. He is also a member of
numerous professional societies and has served on the California
Medical Association's Board of Trustees, is a former President
of the Riverside County Medical Association and has formerly
served in the AMA House of Delegates. Dr Masek has been
a member of the Eisenhower Medical Staff for over15 years,
and is also on staff at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital,
San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, Redlands Community Hospital
and Sedona Surgical Center.
Dr. Masek is experienced in the latest generation of radiotherapeutic
treatment modalities and specializes in the treatment of
prostate cancer and Stereotactic Radiosurgery. Dr. Masek
was on the staff at the San Diego Gamma Knife Center where
he has performed multiple radiosurgery procedures over
the last three years. He has successfully started a new
state of the art radiosurgery program at 21st Century's
Palm Desert facility. The first patient was treated at
that site in April of 2006 using the new, state-of-the-art,
Varian Trilogy System. He is an affiliate of the Seattle
Prostate Institute and has performed over 1200prostate
seed implants, has one of the largest brachytherapy practices
in California and presently trains the Loma Linda University
Radiation Oncology residents in prostate seed implants.
Dr. Masek married Julie Slater in 1974 and has been blessed
with a wonderful marriage. His oldest son is a certified
flight instructor and Dive Master and is presently attending
graduate school, studying and doing research in artificial
intelligence and robotics at the Navy's postgraduate school
in Monterey California. He resides in the same city with
his wife and daughter. Dr. Masek's daughter is an opera
student attending the San Francisco Conservatory of Music
where she performs and is pursuing a career in opera and
his younger son resides close to home with Dr Masek's first
granddaughter.
He is a member of the American College of Radiation
Oncology (ACRO).
