Bruce
M. Nakfoor, Jr., M.D. is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the
University of Notre Dame where he studied liberal arts and
preprofessional studies. After graduation, he attended the
University of Michigan Medical School, from which he received
his medical degree. Dr. Nakfoor then went to Boston where
he received his postgraduate training in Radiation Oncology
at Harvard Medical School's Massachusetts General Hospital.
While
at Massachusetts General, Dr. Nakfoor was involved in both
clinical and basic science research as well as patient care.
He spent 1 1/2 years in the laboratory at Harvard doing
research on the treatment of prostate cancer using a combination
of hormonal therapy and radiation therapy.
For
his achievements, he was awarded an American Cancer Society
Research Fellowship and was selected as Chief Resident during
his final year in Boston prior to joining 21st Century Oncology.
Dr.
Nakfoor has spoken at several national and international
cancer conferences on topics including head and neck cancer,
prostate cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, testicular cancer
and soft tissue (muscle/connective tissue) cancers. His
research on topics such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer,
throat cancer and rectal cancer has been published in several
scientific journals.
He is a member of the American College of Radiation
Oncology (ACRO).
