Michael
N. Shevach, MD earned his medical degree form the University
of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.
He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Long
Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center in New Hyde Park,
New York and went on to residency in Radiation oncology
at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore,
Maryland, where he served as Chief Resident and received
a Clinical Fellowship from the American Cancer Society.
Since
completing his postgraduate training, Dr. Shevach has
been in private practice for sixteen years, involved
in all aspects of Radiation Oncology. He worked at Our
Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York, where
he was the Chairman and Medical Director of Radiation Oncology.
Among other accomplishments, he developed one of the first
HDR Brachytherapy programs in all of Upstate New York.
He went on to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa,
Florida, where he was involved with new radiation therapy
treatment planning technology, fusing software PET imaging
studies with treatment planning CAT scan images, a technique
which has been featured on a number of television stations
across the country.
Certified in Radiation Oncology by the
American Board of Radiology and Diplomat of the National
Board of Medical
Examiners, he belongs to several professional organizations
including the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology
and Oncology and the American College of Radiology.
He is a member of the American College of Radiation
Oncology (ACRO).
