Isaac
Vaisman, M.D., Board Certified in Therapeutic Radiology,
received his Medical Degree as Medical Physician and Surgeon
from Central University of Venezuela School of Medicine,
Caracas, Venezuela.
After
an Internship at Red Cross Hospital of Caracas, he did a
Residency in Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine at Thomas
Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, followed
by a Fellowship in Radiation Medicine at the Massachusetts
General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA.
During
his Residency Programs, he performed rotations in the Department
of Pathology and the Radiation Biology Laboratory at Thomas
Jefferson University Hospital; Section of Pediatric Oncology,
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; Section of Medical
Oncology, American Oncologic Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer
Center, Philadelphia; and Department of Nuclear Medicine,
Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
In
addition to his extensive medical training, Dr. Vaisman
has served in a variety of medical positions. He was Assistant
Professor of Radiation Therapy at the Hospital Oncologico
in Venezuela and Associate in Radiation Therapy at the Instituto
Diagnostico in Caracas. After serving as Associate
Medical
Director, Department of Radiation Oncolgy, at Cedars Medical
Center, Miami, he returned to Venezuela, where he served
as Medical Director, Department of Radiation Therapy at
the Hospital de Clinicas, Caracas; and Director of the High
Dose Rate Brachytherapy Unit at Venezuela's Hospital Oncologico
Padre Machado of the Venezuelan Cancer Society and Chairperson
of the Hospital's Department of Radiation Therapy. Following
these appointments, he joined 21st Century Oncology.
A prolific
author, he has written on multiple primary malignancies
in patients with cutaneous melanoma and on clinical applications
of high energy electron beams in treatment of: the pancreas,
pleura and spine. He is a frequent lecturer and speaks at
conferences and panel discussions on the subject of clinical
Radiation Therapy outcome and benefits. He is a member of
the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology,
American College of Radiology, Venezuelan Society of Radiation
Therapy, Venezuelan Oncology Society, American Endocurietherapy
Society, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American
Medical Association, Florida Medical Association and Broward
County Medical Society.
He is a member of the American College of Radiation
Oncology (ACRO).
