Patricia
A. Downing, RD, L.D. received her Bachelor of
Science Degree in Food and Nutrition from Florida
State University in Tallahassee. She is a Registered
and Licensed Dietitian, and is 21st Century Oncology Inc.'s Nutrition Counselor. Her service
includes nutrition screening, nutrition assessment
and nutrition treatment.
Ms.
Downing has served as Chief Clinical Dietitian
for Cape Coral Hospital as well as the Consulting
Dietitian for the hospital's Life Center. She
currently is a consultant to Hope Hospice of
Fort Myers where she provides in-service nutritional
updates to staff members. Ms. Downing also provides
nutritional instruction to students at Radiation
Therapy's School of Radiation Therapy Technology.
She
has made numerous presentations during her career
to a wide variety of audiences and professional
associations concerning the importance of proper
nutrition when dealing with serious illness.
Ms.
Downing is a member of the American Dietetic Association
and part of the oncological dietetic practice
group. She also is a member of the Florida State
Dietetic Association and the Caloosa Dietetic
Association, for which she has served a variety
of positions including president.
